Mental Health Care
CareEpilepsy recognizes the strong link between epilepsy and mental health. People living with epilepsy often face psychological challenges due to the condition itself, medication side effects, and societal stigma. This stigma can lead to isolation and worsen mental health, reducing overall wellbeing. To address this, we've developed a comprehensive mental health support program offering care for individuals with epilepsy who are also struggling with substance use (alcohol and khat) or psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Working closely with experienced psychiatric doctors, we provide integrated care that prioritizes both neurological and psychological health. Our Integrated Mental Health Support Clinic provides:
  • Counselling & Psychotherapy: One-on-one therapy and lifestyle coaching to support emotional resilience and stress management.
  • Monthly Psychiatric Clinics: Regular assessments and treatment from psychiatrists.
  • Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment:
    • Screening & Assessment for early risk identification.
    • Motivational Sessions to support behavior change.
    • Group Therapy & Peer Support for shared healing.
    • Referral Pathways for advanced care and medication-assisted treatment.
  • Family Education & Support: Sessions to help families understand substance use and support loved ones in recovery.
